Scholarship    

To apply for a Chi Am scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a high school senior in for the upcoming school year
  • Have a minimum 3.3 cumulative high school GPA
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal resident
  • Reside in Santa Clara County, California or be the child or grandchild of a Chi Am member who has served on a committee
  • Be college-bound and be able to show proof of acceptance to an accredited junior or four-year college (Exception: If you are a special needs student, as defined by Section 504 of the Education Code, you may attend vocational training.)
  • Be of Asian descent as defined by CA Dept of Education, http://www.cde.ca.gov/ds/dc/es /refaq.asp#q1

    Community Service Project   [ details ]

    Chi Am members and selected local organizations combine efforts on giving/serving communities in need. Some community projects we are involved in include co-sponsoring Chinese New Year Celebration with Hakone Gardens, Relay for Live with Amerian Cancer Society, Friends of Children with Special Needs, LifeMoves, CHCP Summer Festivals, Fund raising for other worth noting non-profit organizations are some of the examples.

    Test Workbook Drive

    This committee collects and distributes lightly used SAT, SAT II and AP test prep books for the Santa Clara County high schools that have difficulty affording these books.

    Chi Am members will be filling backpacks and distributing them to school children in need.
