Your company may have a matching gift program. You can  donate via your company donation portal.  You can also donate directly to us first, then take the donation receipt to apply for matching. Check with your Human Resources Department.

When the transfer is being initiated, please email the stock/mutual fund name and number of shares to sponsorship@chiamcircle.org.  Provide your full name,  email and home address so that we can issue a donation  receipt.   

Please note that brokerage firms are busiest processing stock  donation transfers at the end of the year. If you want your  donation to be tax deductible for the current tax year, Chi Am  Circle recommends that  you request the transfer before  December 15th.

If you are over 70 1/2 in age, you can make a qualified  charitable distribution (QCD) to Chi Am Circle as a donation.  A QCD is a direct transfer of funds from your IRA custodian paid to a qualified charity. QCDs can be counted toward satisfying your required minimum distributions (RMDs) for the year, as long as certain rules are met. The maximum annual amount that can qualify for a QCD is $100,000. Each custodian has its own way of processing such requests. In general, you would complete their form and have “Chi Am  Circle” as the “Payable To” on the check. 

In addition to the benefits of giving to charity, a QCD excludes the amount donated from taxable income, which is unlike regular withdrawals from an IRA. Keeping your taxable income lower may reduce the impact to certain tax credits and deductions, including Social Security and Medicare. Please  consult your tax adviser for details.

Donate any time. If you’d like to have your donation go toward next year’s scholarship program the deadline is December 31st of the current year.

Once you have chosen an option to donate, please complete our Sponsorship Brochure to provide your name and contact information so we can send you a receipt and a thank-you letter.
